Septic Inspection?

The definition of Inspection: Careful examination.

We had a call last week from a homeowner in the process of selling their house. They were asking for a second opinion septic inspection. The previous company failed the inspection saying they needed a whole new system. We went out to the home and found that the tank is 4 feet deep and had never been dug up. How do you do an inspection without physically seeing the interior of the tank?

Attached are 2 pictures of before and after a full septic inspection. Notice the shovel sticking in the crust due to the thickness of sludge from the tank not being serviced every 3 years. You see the inlet tee stopped up in the before photo but once cleaned you see the flow of water running into the tank as the homeowner is using it.
